General Hints and Tips
Exploration
After the prologue, the resort can be pretty much explored to your heart's content. This walkthrough will only assist you in finding collectables and performing quests. I won't dictate what you need to do step by step as this won't make your game any more enjoyable.

Tracking Quests
Quests can be tracked. Aside from the obvious red flag marker on the map, you'll even get to see white dots lined up to show you the path in your mini-map. You don't have to worry since all characters share the same quests. Just refer to this walkthrough for additional help.

Fast Travel Exploit
You can basically use the 'Load Last Checkpoint' trick to get by faster, especially if you're just doing continuous quests. Take note that YOU SHOULD NOT use this especially if part of a main/sidequest includes collecting something and delivering it back to the questgiver; otherwise, you'll lose the item you collected and you'll have to redo the whole process again. Watch the video below to learn how to do it. This will save you A LOT of time.

Health Recovery
You can restore a bit of your health by drinking numerous scattered energy drinks and eating snacks. These recovery items re-spawn over time. You can't stock up healing items, only medkits. It is a good habit to keep a lookout for these since you won't know when you'll need a quick drink to save your butt.

Kicking
Don't just swing your weapon haphazardly; if it doesn't connect, you're open for the biting. A good way to deal with fast, aggressive (normal) zombies will be kicking them. This will stop them on their tracks, giving you more than enough time to decapitate them or crack their heads open. Kicking can also be used with dealing with hordes of zombies to keep your composure and give you some breathing space. By jumping and kicking, you can easily knock down infected and walkers with ease, leaving them open for you to stomp.

Materials and Workbenches
Workbenches are essential to keep your weapons in top shape. As such, make it a habit to scour every searchable containers, luggage, cabinet you come across with. Modified weapons sport some really impressive base stats and additional effects normal weapons don't have so make sure you're always carrying one. If you happen to find a merchant selling some uncommon materials, make sure to buy a good number of them so you won't have problems creating the mods that need them.

Collect Everything
Pick up almost everything that you come across with. Fortunately, only weapons, grenades, medkits and alcohol count towards your inventory limit. Miscellaneous items (materials and mods) don't count to your limit so there should be no reason for you for not picking them up.

Keep Your Weapons in Top Shape
You must remember that restoring a completely destroyed weapon is MUCH more expensive than maintaining it. As such, always keep your (main) weapons in top shape. It will be a hassle if you'll find yourself unable to afford the repair cost when you direly need it.

Look out for 'resupply points'
These are the places where you can find lots of recovery items such as drinks and food, as well vending machines (even better). There are several of these in the resort and in the city so remember their locations. In the jungle, you'll find these in front of stone idols as offerings. They may save you when you're in a pinch.

I have completed the game once, and I'm towards the end of my second run through the game, but I seem to be stuck. There are no missions available, and no way for me to get back to the prison to continue the story and complete it again.
I am not sure how to proceed from here. Will someone be able to help me?

When you load the save or reload a checkpoint, you will be inside the laboratory, facing the door to Dr. West's office, go inside the office and open the small fridge opposite the door and take the antidote. After that you will need to interact with the radio on the table to go to prison (don't pass go).

My theory is that you accidentally fast travelled out of the prison by loading last checkpoint while highlighting a mission not in the prison. However, I would've expected you to return to the prison the next time that you load up the save file from the title menu.
If you've already been to the prison on that playthrough, fast travel maps will allow you to fast travel to the prison. kotekzot's theory that you haven't retrieved the antidote sounds slightly plausible too. In any case, you can click play at the title menu, new game, pick the same character, choose the chapter closest to your progress, which sounds like chapter 16 which is the start of the prison, as desireable, and select your old character's data to play with. Don't worry, this creates a copy of the save file.

Dead Island fix for PC. stuck at laboratory can't get to prison . at the prison cutscene quit the game now I'm stuck radio doesn't work. I fixed it by doing the following: goto out folder in install directory and backup save and profiles folders in another folder. now start the game and select new game from menu select chapter 16 with the same character. you now have no inventory to money but you are at the prison. halfway there... quit the game completely out to Windows. start the game and select Continue you are now at the prison or somewhere else. now quit the game only to main menu and ALT and tab out to Windows. now replace the profiles and saves folders that you have backed up while the game is running. alt and tab back to the game select Continue and you should now be at the start of the prison quest with all your items and money and levels.

Had the same problem on the PS3 edition. But when I walked around (from lab to the boat, where you can store your items with Jin, and back) it came up by itself.

Was just wandering to find that flower, already having a ton of them. Then I fell from a rocky cliff and respawned. Later on when close to the lab I saw a '!' on the little map. So just walk around for 10-15 minutes and it will, I think, solve itself.

Red Dead Redemption 2‘s map is huge. While your horse can get you from point A to B, trekking across vast plains, through forests, and from town to town can take some time. Thankfully, there are a few ways to get around faster in RDR2, including a fast travel system. None of these additional methods of travel are immediately made clear, though. In this guide, we’ll teach you how to unlock fast travel and travel quicker using different modes of transportation other than your beloved horse.

All aboard
Early on in Red Dead Redemption 2, the Van der Linde gang partakes in a train heist. But trains aren’t only good for robbing, they’re also a solid means of traveling from town to town. To ride a train, you have to first purchase a ticket at the post office. You can find a post office by looking on your map for an envelope icon. Tickets for train rides are pretty cheap, typically costing no more than several dollars.
The downside of traveling by train is that you can only go to places with train stations, meaning major towns. You can only travel to towns you have been to before. But say you want to travel from Rhodes to Valentine quickly? You can do that.
More horsepower
Another means of fast travel is by stagecoach. Stagecoach locations are more plentiful than train stations. You can find them on your map by looking for the wooden sign with arrows pointed in opposite directions (they are referred to as Taxi Coaches). Simply travel to one of the icons and then purchase a ticket. Ticket costs vary based on how far you want to travel. A lengthy trip can cost you more than ten bucks. Like trains, you can only travel to places you’ve been before, but stagecoach icons can be found on most major roads.
Actual fast travel
From the start, trains and stagecoaches are really your only way to travel quicker than you can by horseback. However, RDR2 does have a more traditional fast travel method that it never tells you about. Perhaps this is because Rockstar wants you to explore the world in all its glory. We understand that sentiment, but if you want to ping from place to place quickly, you can do so, albeit in a limited fashion.
In the gang’s camp there is a donation box. Next to the box is a ledger for camp upgrades. The upgrade you’re looking for is called “Next in Line,” which is on the second page under the heading “Lodging.” Before you can purchase Next in Line, you’ll have to buy “First Things First,” a $220 upgrade to Dutch’s tent. After that, you can spend $325 on Next in Line.
You’re not done yet, though. In order to actually unlock fast travel, you need to go pick up the map in Arthur’s tent. With the new map, you can fast travel instantly from camp to a towns, settlements, and other important spots throughout the campaign. Unfortunately, once you travel to a location, you cannot fast travel back. And you need to be in camp in order to use fast travel.
Still, with fast travel unlocked, you can get around a lot quicker. For instance, you can fast travel to Saint Denis and then hitch a ride on a stage coach immediately after to get close to your desired location.
You’ll still have to do a lot of riding
Given the limitations of fast travel in RDR2, you will wind up riding by horseback for long stretches no matter what. With that in mind, make sure you always have food and horse stimulant in your satchel. If you don’t bring enough horse supplies with you, it’s only a matter of time before your horse’s gallop turns into a tired walk.
